Food allergen detector

When suffering from food allergy every meal could potentially be harmful for you. There are eight types of food that account for around 90% of allergic reactions: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat. Depending on how severe the allergy is, the allergic reactions can vary from discomfortable irritations and hives to death. The nose helps you determine if the food is harmful for you or not.

This device is the result of a strategic design course carried out in collaboration with Philips. The course was divided into two phases. Phase one focused on brand research, user profiles, product mapping and was carried out in groups. In phase two the each student made a concept based on the work in phase one. This is a concept of a personal food allergen detector helping to prevent severe allergic reactions and ease the pressure on hospitals.
